The Scrap Box Is In Dundee!
At the beginning of the month, Libby and Karen took some of our signs and samples to the Michigan Welcome Center in Dundee, right on northbound US 23. We filled the top display case with our materials to give people an idea of what we’re all about. The display will be featured during the whole month of March.
Also, on Friday, March 14 and Saturday, March 15, they will sponsor Scrap Box days. Visitors can make a small project using the special materials we provided. We were delighted to be asked if we wanted to participate in their free publicity.
In addition to Scrap Box flyers, they have hundreds of different literature about places throughout Michigan (as well as restrooms). Stop by and pay them a visit when you’re down in that area. They are open from 9 to 5.
Will Spring Be Here Soon?
Even though it might not seem like it, spring will be coming – it always does – and what a welcome time it will be. We’re ready at The Box. There are decorative eggs galore, in all sizes and materials. Small flowers come in many colors. We also have small butterflies, dragonflies, mossy rocks, fairy garden items and jewels.
Annual Scrap Box Warehouse Sale
It’s not too early to put the date on your calendar: Saturday, June 14! If you attended the first annual warehouse sale last June, you can testify what fun it was. Again this year, staff and volunteers will comb the back warehouse and attic to search out the unusual, the one-of-a-kind items, overstock, overlooked, and just plain unique stuff that hasn’t made its way out of the back before. Get your friends on board to join you in the hunt. We’ll look forward to seeing you there.
Coming Community Events
On Thursday, April 3 and Friday, April 4 Libby and Karen will be exhibiting at the annual Michigan Association of Young Children Conference in Grand Rapids. We
look forward to seeing our friends from all over Michigan who enjoy buying our unique materials that are so suitable for young children.

The Box will once again be participating in the annual Earth Day festival on Sunday, April 27, at the Leslie Science Center from noon to 4 pm. It’s a family fun event, with lots of activities and entertainment. This year there will be a new event: a fashion parade where everything has to be made with recycled materials (a lot of it from The Box, no doubt).
Then on Friday, June 13, the city-sponsored Green Fair will be held on Main Street, from 6 to 9 pm. And we’ll be there with a popular kids’ project.
