HERALD (Calling in loud voice): Dhian deejai! Dhian deejail! I bring a message from The Magnificent Hindu Prince of Maharastra to the villagers of Rajapur. (VILLAGERS murmur eagerly among themselves. Then quiet down as HERALD begins to read.) “I, the Maharajah, Prince of Maharastra, am extremely bored! Therefore, I will conduct a contest tomorrow at noon under the banyan tree near the village well. If anyone knows how to make my life more interesting, let him appear before me. The person with the best suggestion will be awarded a thousand rupees, two white elephants, and my eternal gratitude.” HERALD exits, followed by VILLAGERS, ad libbing excitedly. Curtain opens.

What a wonderful way to spend time with grandchildren—putting together a play to perform for the family, and all the while having so much fun!
The play, The Maharajah is Bored, took us almost a year to design, build, gather costumes, etc – but finally 6 of our grandkids – age 11 – 2 gave not one – but two performances. We are currently working on the play Ferdinand and will be coming in soon of set materials.
Thank you for being there for our whole community.
